Coherent Nonsense
Spider-Man: It Was a Long Day
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
In this episode, we start with family updates and some local community growth before diving into the new Spider-Man movie. That naturally spirals into Marvel as a whole, a detour through the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola and the Blue Angels, why passing out isn't fun, then some Comic Con 2026 talk. Video game talk somehow becomes comfort TV show talk, SummerSlam and One Femi and we wrap things up right back where we started with Doomsday and Marvel.
Maybe that one too.
SPEAKER_01Well, at least we'll be able to keep a good eye on it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we got it. We are recording now. Up and roll. What up, gang? What's up, guys? Um, how you been? Pretty okay.
SPEAKER_01It feels so good in here.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we're in a different location because we are finally remodeling the studio for the podcast. So things building, things coming. Yes I. Good times. Big plans. What's been going on in your life?
SPEAKER_01We gotta get after it.
SPEAKER_02First, I'll tell you what's been personally going on. My daughter finally turned 16. Yeah. So I have an 18-year-old and a 16-year-old.
SPEAKER_01You never have to leave the house again. That's wild. You got two Ubers for everything.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah. She she got her license officially, took the test and everything Friday. And then ever since then, she's been like, Do y'all need to go to the grocery store? You hungry? Anybody hungry?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Y'all need anything from the store?
SPEAKER_02She's like, I'm going to Eliano's, get me a coffee. And then she's like, she comes back with no Eliano. She's like, uh, my stomach was kind of hurting. I decided I'll just go get it later. Like, hey.
SPEAKER_01Like, bro, you got it.
SPEAKER_02I know what it is. About two weeks, and you'll be tired of going places.
SPEAKER_01Like, as long as you got uh as long as you got gas money, to go have fun.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm. And then Nico, tomorrow, him and his buddies, Bobby and them, they're going to Florida for the week by themselves. Dang. So that's a milestone. For real. Wow. Since he's turned 16, though, we've told him you've got 100% credit, meaning we trust you until you give us a reason not to. He's 18 and we never have had a reason not to trust him or anything. So thankful for that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. All his uh mischief is like uh just in motorcycle. Like he doesn't do it. All his crazy is action sports.
SPEAKER_02Oh, and somebody bought Calhoun.
SPEAKER_01Oh, for real.
SPEAKER_02This opening back up. They're actually having the first practice a week from today, next Sunday. Which Nico, no, he'll be in Florida. He'll be coming back from Florida. But the next one, yeah, he's gonna get back on it. It's been weird going this whole year without going to a race. Yeah. First year in four years. We haven't been to the dirt bike track.
SPEAKER_01I know. He got tired of winning. He's like, I gotta take a break.
SPEAKER_02I don't know why they sold it. The business is shut down. But I'm glad somebody bought it and decided to keep it the dirt bike track because it was up for sale like just separately. Just the real estate. Like the business and the real estate. So come somebody could have bought it, bought it, and demolished it. Demolished it and put a factory there and put a warehouse there.
SPEAKER_01So then somebody somebody that loves racing bought it then.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah, and it's the longest running uh which track in Georgia, I think.
SPEAKER_01You shouldn't own a dirt bike track if you don't love dirt bikes.
SPEAKER_02Exactly. But you know how people are, you know how business people are, or other companies buying up real estate and stuff like that. Oh yeah, they're building weird stuff around here, like those apartments over there by Lively's, uh those townhouses that are way expensive for the location.
SPEAKER_01And I was coming from work the other day and uh going there for lunch. So I come down the bypass and come in the back way, like yeah, yeah. Or by Rock Street and stuff. And I turned down that little alley beside uh Lively's and just happened to look left, and that's the entrance. You gotta go down that little alley, and that's the entrance to those townhouses. Oh, what? Yeah, and it's just like weird uh dirt, like a gravel road.
SPEAKER_02I don't know. Wonder if they're I wonder if the county, or is that that's is that the city or the county right there that is?
SPEAKER_01Uh sh that's probably that's probably city.
SPEAKER_02Probably because they tore down that out.
SPEAKER_01I'm pretty sure, to be honest.
SPEAKER_02And what I hear is they're putting a racetrack there, like a racetrack gas station gas station and uh kind of a strip with with some stores and stuff right there. Yeah. So I wonder if just that the side of town with that uh other building they just built.
SPEAKER_01They're gonna gentrify it.
SPEAKER_02Is that what the word is when they they're just making it fancy?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and they take it right.
SPEAKER_02Well, I thought gentrifying was more negative.
SPEAKER_01Well, it's looked at as negative because you're moving out the poor populace of that area by buying up the dead property.
SPEAKER_02Now, how would that work?
SPEAKER_01So if if they when you when you do that and you start building new stuff, it's gonna make all their property taxes and stuff go up.
SPEAKER_02So they can't, and if they can't afford it, they're forced to move.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they're forced to move, and then that's more property for you to buy up and gentrify.
SPEAKER_02So I would call that, in my perspective, a catch-22.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because that's how capitalism works. We went over this in a podcast.
SPEAKER_02I mean, not in this specific thing, but no, I'm saying for everybody else.
SPEAKER_01Oh, now it oh, now they know financial goveres.
SPEAKER_02No, we're not. We already know that. That's why I'm asking what gentrification means.
SPEAKER_01I control none of our money. Oh, no, that's what it is. Just you uh you start buying up properties and making the neighborhood nice and raising the property value around it to where the people who are in the neighborhood, that was their neighborhood, now they can't afford to live there because they can't afford to pay property taxes. Because property taxes is uh th stealing. Because if I can't afford to pay this tax every year, even though I own this house, I can lose the house that I've already paid for. That's this stuff is never mine.
SPEAKER_02It's ridiculous. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01The property taxes should be abolished.
SPEAKER_02I agree.
SPEAKER_01Or they should uh I mean I think they fund like some of the I'm an idiot. So all this all this could this party could do. But I think that like does stuff for the schools and the property taxes fund some of the school stuff, and that's why you got better schools and better neighborhoods because they pay more property taxes and fund the school. But that could totally be wrong. And my wife's a teacher, I should know that kind of stuff. Uh I don't know. This is why this is we had Jessica up on here talking about it. For real. That would be awesome if we got uh somebody because I know that Matt would probably come do it and just uh be hilarious for an hour. We'd only talk about politics stuff for a few minutes, and he'd be like uh third guest that becomes uh regular that would that would be fun though. But also, I'm not interested in that stuff, exactly. So like the whole episode, no like like hey, can just come over and school us because I don't have any questions. I'm not interested in this, yeah. But Matt would be funny.
SPEAKER_02We'll do a we'll do segments.
SPEAKER_01Oh, word on the street within coherent nonsense. There you go. We go, we go to the um, we go to the street with our idiot idea. Like, hey, what do you think about this? And stuff that we're not sure about, just start asking people that's probably not sure about it as well.
SPEAKER_02And we'll be like, come to the coherent cut coherent nonsense booth at the Fall Festival.
SPEAKER_01Do uh do a live podcast from the Fall Festival.
SPEAKER_02We got the means and the technology. Don't don't tempt us, don't tempt me, boy.
SPEAKER_01MK's got the junior service league connections because she was in that mode for 10 years and they do it. So we'll do it. She still works at we'll do it.
SPEAKER_02We'll build, we're building people, and you're on the ground floor.
SPEAKER_01Another charity now, though.
SPEAKER_02So, all right. All right, yeah. We'll quit playing. Got hopefully. Seeing any good movies lately?
SPEAKER_01Uh I watched one last night.
SPEAKER_02All right, before we start, before we start, spoiler alerts, we're fixing to go into Spider-Man brand new day in detail. You've been warned in three, two, one. I knew she was Jen Gray from the very beginning.
SPEAKER_01Going into how could you not be? I saw the funniest, I saw the funniest like throw-off just a few days ago of her as squirrel girl. And I was like, if she's squirrel girl, that would rule harder than Gene Gray.
SPEAKER_02No, Anna Kendrick has to be squirrel girl.
SPEAKER_01No, I'm just saying having that character is fire.
SPEAKER_02It's such a James Gunn move. Bro, that's so fire. Like oh, and Squirrel Girl's not in Spider-Man. Oh no. No.
SPEAKER_01It's nuts though.
SPEAKER_02Uh overall though. What do you think?
SPEAKER_01Like it just a small, quick synopsis.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Born in the beginning. And then got a hundred times better uh as the movie went on. But the boring, uh the boring beginning had me. I was like, yo, let's get this popping already. Because I was so excited.
SPEAKER_03Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01And there wasn't enough. I was almost like, because I went by myself. Oh. I'm in the row. Why didn't you?
SPEAKER_02I would have went and watched that a second time. Uh well, it just bro, I'm gonna I'm gonna have to go alone. Do you want to go watch this again?
SPEAKER_01It fell apart uh last minute. Me and MK was gonna go, but she had a lot of painting for people to do. So she was like, I really need to spend this time painting. I said, yo, I gotta go watch this movie for the podcast. But and I went at the five, the five o'clock show here in town, set on a row completely by myself. Nice. And it was it was pretty lit. I loved it. Like afterwards, I was like, ah, you know, I was hadn't processed it. Like it's let me let me think about it. Okay, but it's only because the to me, the beginning was boring because I was so excited, like and I feel like the trailer showed a lot of the better parts of the movie. So there was only a few things, you know, you're like, oh snap, you know, I mean, like so. But that's just uh overall no in-depth talking about it because I've been I've been waiting for this to to really dive into it.
SPEAKER_02That's what I was wondering.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, knew she was Gene Gray the whole time. How could she not be? She could have been Rachel Summers, uh, you know, Scott and Gene's daughter, who's badass. But uh overall, a great way to introduce X-Men into the MCU, like in a little easy, easy breezy way. Yeah, like a smooth transition. Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_00You do you tell me what you think.
SPEAKER_02For me, man, um uh since it's been a few days, I'm gonna say this can't be recency-biased. Yeah, so for me, it was a 1010, the best Spider-Man movie, possibly easily the top five Marvel movies ever made. And that's me not being bored at all by a single second of it. Uh I only watched the first trailer ever released, and I'm very good at going, all right, I'm gonna go see it. And if I'm decided I'm gonna go see it, I don't ever watch a single another trailer, TV spot, clip, nothing. I don't want to see it. I don't want to know.
SPEAKER_01I do that with some movies. I guess I didn't I I have to actively consciously be aware of I don't want to see anything. And I I didn't do that with Spider-Man.
SPEAKER_02Things that I loved was the tone that the director chose. I mean, honestly, in the um in the camera and lighting, and it was slightly darker. I was gonna ask you that, which made it just feel local to New York. It made New York seem big to me. And I liked uh the fact that he had a practical suit, that his suit was real. It wasn't the CGI Iron Spider suit or his other ones previously. You could see that it was real material and really wrinkling up, and you know, like he'd he would jump and move and it would wrinkle. It was it was very realistic. Yeah brown.
SPEAKER_01I thought it was dark, and I was thinking, is this is this because of West Cinema? Like, is this the theater?
SPEAKER_02No, or just that director.
SPEAKER_01Um uh Peter Jackson, he does that. Like uh or no, he's famous for not doing that, Peter Jackson. Yeah, he would make everything like way brighter.
SPEAKER_02Let me say that I don't think it was dark, I think it was he took some of the vibrance out of the coloring to make it more realistic, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_01And it was a more emotional film, exactly. Like is there three parts in this movie where you're gonna tear up? Absolutely.
SPEAKER_02The conversation between him and MJ in the submarine wrecked me.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, right. I'm like in the row trying not to cry at freaking Spider-Man. Nah.
SPEAKER_02I teared up in their in their road one time. I'm I'm not ashamed.
SPEAKER_01That's why I I say that it it got a hundred times better as it went on. Like I was bored in the beginning, but I was like excited, and I didn't have nobody to talk, you know what I mean? Like express my excitement.
SPEAKER_02See, I had Nico on the right and uh Cherie on the left, and I could I could lean in and give hints or you know, I'd say to Cherie, like it would as soon as I seen that the hooded figure was Sadie Sink, I just leaned over and said, She's gene grain.
SPEAKER_01She's gene gray.
SPEAKER_02And I like how they like from the beginning letting you know how powerful she is, but will become even more even more so because she's still portrayed as like early teens. I mean uh late teens, early 20s, so she still ain't uh grown into the her potential. She got the uh the magneto treatment where now she in the comics, I don't know that much about her comic character. Is she's never truly fully a hero or fully a villain. She kind of flip-flops, don't she?
SPEAKER_01Well, she uh at one point she becomes the dark phoenix. I know that, and like she's full-on.
SPEAKER_02That's like she's like Dr. Manhattan level.
SPEAKER_01Tell me nothing about it.
SPEAKER_02I can take things apart at a molecular level. Yeah, she but uh she's a walking reality story.
SPEAKER_01They do a good job of that story arc in the first X-Men movies when Femka Janssen plays.
SPEAKER_02And that's where I'm that's the only knowledge I have of Gene Gray.
SPEAKER_01They do a good job of her arc, her arc of it.
SPEAKER_02And then like her losing her mind and whatnot, but it does she she has a relationship with Cyclops.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they Scott Summers, yeah. They so I wonder if they're gonna if they have a child together, her name's Rachel, Rachel Summers.
SPEAKER_02So I bet her love interest isn't gonna be uh the the Fox Cyclops. It wouldn't be. Uh this is all this has all got to be the X-Men of this earth, right?
SPEAKER_01I have no idea what uh what storyline they're gonna do, but yeah, we won't know until after doomsday. I don't know. Um I don't guess I'm aware of any other storyline really of because I know they have a daughter and yeah, I I would have to but you know Wolverine that all that stuff in the movies in there like Wolverine likes her, and that's all he liked.
SPEAKER_02No, okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_01It wasn't Rogue, Rogue was but Wolverine and Rogue never had Rogue and Bobby in the movie, Rogue and Iceman were liked each other.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but I'm saying in the comics, Rogue and Wolverine never had that bro, that that brother sister.
SPEAKER_01She doesn't need to be looked out for. Rogue ain't that she ain't that. She was like, like, you know, there's nothing you can do. She'll touch him and take that healing factor away. No, yeah, she doesn't need anybody to uh come save her while she's about to run away on a train.
SPEAKER_02Uh going back to Spider-Man, I'll tell you, I know I know at the end, you know, uh Gene saves Peter and all that stuff. Uh but when we and Shree was talking about it afterwards, I said, you know what? I mean, I understand Peter's Peter, and he's a good guy. Now I said, but I might have to let Frank, I might have to let her take that bullet from Frank because what she did to him on the rooftop with MJ is the most evil thing that I can imagine. Like, that's so pure evil.
SPEAKER_01Giving him giving him exactly what you want, only to take it away, let you know that it was fake.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I knew it before she even caught. I was like, nah, this is I said, nah, this is that villain.
SPEAKER_01This is that because we're like wiping tears away from nobody.
SPEAKER_02This is that villain. Oh, and then she was like, That's right. Touch her beater. I said, Oh, that's cold.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, cold. Yeah, that's some solar level.
SPEAKER_02Oh, that's uh unforgivable sin.
SPEAKER_01Man, it's funny. Toby McGuire, like he was only Spider-Man for like five years. Oh, Andrew Garfield was like three or four years, and oh, Tom Holland, 10. He liked 10.
SPEAKER_02Brand New Day is the very first Spider-Man 4 we've ever seen.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's true.
SPEAKER_02We've never seen a Spider-Man become a man. He's it's only it's always been re reboot before it gets there gets there, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Well unless you like that unless you count uh across the Spider-Verse, like into the Spider-Verse.
SPEAKER_02I don't because it's a cartoon, but I mean I count it as a move. I count it as a movie.
SPEAKER_01There is a Spider Man in that movie.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's true. That's true.
SPEAKER_01Do you see the videos in Dea recreating Toby McGuire's? Yeah, I don't like I used to think she was not pretty, but I guess I have to give it up. She is pretty.
SPEAKER_02I still don't think she is, but you know, beauty's relative, it doesn't matter. All that means is she doesn't have features. I don't really care for her. But I love the MJ character.
SPEAKER_01I don't like like skinny girls. I like some be a little thicker.
SPEAKER_02I don't mind either. Uh I like the MJ character a lot.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I like her tomboy-ishness and uh I D G A F attitude.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. That's like my favorite things a girl could have. Yeah, it's just super nonchalant. Yeah. Um the dynamic of Frank and Peter, I just love it so much.
SPEAKER_01They they have to well, it's because they've been in he's I've heard uh John Barenthal talk about knowing Tom Holland since he was like 16 or 17.
SPEAKER_02This all this whole weekend, my algorithm is just in interviews of both of them and them talking about each other, yeah.
SPEAKER_01And the way they talk about each other, you can tell they love each other.
SPEAKER_02So yeah, but even the characters banter so fantastic.
SPEAKER_01That's so good. He is somehow seen a comment, he was like uh glazing Tom Holland, and somebody was like, Hear me out. This guy would be a good Frank Castle.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I seen an old interview of with John, and they was talking about uh if he would ever join Marvel, and he was and he he spattered off a couple things like yeah, yeah, doors always open. I'm interested, blah blah. He was like, I would really like to, I would really like to play Frank Castle. Yeah, it's like all right.
SPEAKER_01Have you seen uh the one about Tom Holland talking about uh they wanted to be Spider-Man when he's like 11? But it was a montage I saw of him manifesting everything in his life. So he was like, uh he started off with like a most in recent interview. He said, No, I believe in manifestation because I swear, like all I gotta say it is in a public interview, and then two or three years later it'll happen.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And then it started with uh Uh who was your first crush? He was like Zendaya. They're like, who's a care? It was after that uh tsunami movie he was in, Impossible or whatever. They were interviewing him, and he was like, Who do you sell who do you see yourself playing? You know, a character later who's like, maybe in like 10 years, Spider-Man. And just on and on, I was like, Yeah, this this is good right here.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Hey, set a goal, go work towards it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I heard vision boards work. I never had one, but we're gonna make one. I heard about them. Oh yeah. There was these uh like I said, I sat on a row by myself, and I was probably like about six rows back or seven from the front. And then about 30 minutes in, a lady and five kids under like 10 come sit right in front of me, and two of these mugs talked so much, and the whole time I'm like, you have kids, don't be mean to a kid. You know, you're not mean. I'm never mean to kids, but God, when you're talking the theater, it doesn't matter who you are. I hate you. I hate you.
SPEAKER_02Slap them on the back of the head like Carlton.
SPEAKER_01Just oh God, I hate you.
SPEAKER_02It's like I won't say nothing, but I will get to the show.
SPEAKER_01Oh, you're one of these people, you're one of these people that buys nachos at the movie. Get out of here.
SPEAKER_02They shouldn't even sell nachos. They should not sell nachos. Don't sell anything that crunches any loud foods. I know, God. I would rather them sell hamburgers than nachos.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. Because they're not gonna be in there like only somebody will, but the majority's not. And if they are, they're gonna sit right close to me, I promise you. It's a good thing. Like I love going to the movies, but everyone around me pisses me off. We go to the movies without being. I'm paid money for this. Be quiet.
SPEAKER_02That is why I love how Barry is now and uh like the the bigger AMCs, like we go to Barrett Parkway. Oh, it's such the the recliners and stuff and how the rows are is so large that if somebody's behind you in front of you, you don't care, but they're so far away. Yeah, like even when people walk the rows, like you're reclined and you still could, you know, uh solo and you can still walk by. Yep.
SPEAKER_01I like that. I pay a little extra for that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think up there, like one ticket for matinee is like still 14-15 bucks. If you want to go to IMAX, I think it was coming in at 25 a ticket.
SPEAKER_01Bro, still never seen an IMAX movie.
SPEAKER_02You never have? Never. I saw Inception in IMAX and one of the Transformers.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I many, okay. We're talking earlier. Uh I want to go to the Cosm in Atlanta.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I saw I want to go a lot when they have WrestleMania or something.
SPEAKER_01I was on there doing uh The Matrix. Dang. Watching The Matrix in there. I was saying like a video of Harry Potter.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Just the I don't know, just how they got it set up. It's dope. Looks like The Matrix. Yeah. That screen and then the screen behind the screen that's projecting the stuff you can't see that would be there in the movie, like, but you can still see the screen. Like the I don't know. It seems it seems fun.
SPEAKER_02I want to get it more live event though. Like that's that's how I want to experience it.
SPEAKER_01Could you imagine you watching WrestleMania or something there, and it's just how I wonder if it's like what they do, put the crowd.
SPEAKER_02Well, WWE has uh like for the uh the sphere in Las Vegas, um, I think it's the sphere, or maybe just other Cosm-like things. Well, I think they have a camera on the turnbuckle. So like if you're looking down this microphone, uh this is like the camera's here, and then the ropes go that way, and it's like fish-eyed, yeah, like because it's a dome. And I guess there's other TVs with the actual live feed, but that one camera is like your standing on the ring apron watching every match.
SPEAKER_01Wow.
SPEAKER_02I have to send you some videos so you can see the perspective. I don't know if that's what I'm saying. I don't know if that's how it is in this Atlanta one, but that is how it is. Oh no, like there and there's a place in Texas that's like a cosm type place.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Because uh it looks weird, like it feels like it would give you vertigo. Like, oh, I'm almost dizzy a little bit, like but I think that the dedicated uh movie screen in the middle of it is what centers people and that adds another element to where it's it throws off like the physics of watching it because your your brains taking those two different things and try to put them together and it works, but I want to see it live. I've only seen videos, uh I feel like being there of like yeah, I want to experience it, look around.
SPEAKER_02It's like I'm the same way. I want to be overwhelmed. Do you have any interest in a 4D movie where the movie where the seats moving is throwing water at you and you have to wear a cover, protective covering and all that?
SPEAKER_01No, no, I ain't I ain't trying to go to no um Gallagher show. You know what I mean? Yeah, like I can get hit with some mist. I'm fine with being misted. I don't want to be doused. No, I don't want to have to put on protective uh layer to watch any kind of show. But we went to a little 4D experience at Stone Mountain movie. It's like 12 or 13 minutes, like a dinosaur movie where it's it's 4D, but dinosaur run behind you, and then the the seat of like it'll blow up air on you and stuff like that. That's the only thing I've ever done. That was cool. Like I don't want to experience an hour and a half of that uh in the form they had it because you can hear like when the air blew, you can hear it every like you know, it seemed forced.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01It wasn't it wasn't subtle at all.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I'm pretty sure.
SPEAKER_01But still, like the seats kind of run, it was cool. I want to do the ride of back to the future, like at Universal or something. That kind of thing seems cool, but I don't know. I've I I don't know what to expect from a free. I don't know. I'm just saying they're 5D too? Something like that.
SPEAKER_02I've seen the videos, you know what I'm saying. It's a little more, a little bit more, seems more high-tech than kind of what you're describing. Some new technology. I'm talking about where the whole sea, you rocking back and forth, and it's like there was a lot of water going on, so I don't know what it was watching.
SPEAKER_01No, I mean, uh yeah, I would love to do that, but just to experience it. Yeah, I would I would like to try it in a shorter format before uh doing a whole movie.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Give me a dip, can we watch a trailer? Can we watch the trailer and then I'll see. We did uh I think it was in Gatlinburg. We did this thing, I think it was called Skyview, but it's like that uh it's like an IMAX type of thing, but this is uh an experience, like a ride. And you go in and you sit in like these rows, and they're reminiscent of like shaped like a sleigh almost, like it comes up, curves up behind you, and you're like there's like speakers and stuff and the headrest, and then there's a big, you know, IMAX looking screen in front of you, and you're like and this is like a 4D type thing too, except for when it starts, those rows transform from sitting on the ground into balconies, like they raise you up in the air, and you become instead of looking up at the screen, you're looking more even with the screen. Everybody's in different different uh levels and stuff. It's it's cool. And then it's uh like bird's eye views of things, different views, drone type stuff. One of them was uh like turn four in NASCAR. You see, like you're way up here, bird, like you're an eagle. And then you're flying, you see the cars, and they're coming around turn three, turn four, and then you start flying right at them, and then you go ground ground level, and the cars are coming at you, going through the car, shoo, shoo, shoo, shoo, shoo, and there's air and everything coming at you. Yeah, that was pretty fun. Like, but God, I hope a whole movie of that seems overwhelming.
SPEAKER_02Well, what you're describing is just seems like just a rise, yeah, like a little experience. I don't think it's that elaborate, is what I'm talking about.
SPEAKER_01These theaters, it not if it's uh that sky view one yeah, that sky view one was tight. Yeah, one at the one at Stone Mountains, like the team version, yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's kind of like when we we go to uh down to Perdito, it's close to Penskola. When we go to the aviation museum, they have they have a blue angel, like this simulator thing. Uh you get in it and it literally closes over you.
SPEAKER_01Oh, you're like you in a cockpit.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, cockpit. Two people and it closes over you, and then this the whole thing in front of you is a full screen, and then it plays this simulator, and it is like it raises up this pod that you're in, uh, and then the simulator starts. The only bad thing about the simulator is it's like Xbox 360 graphics, like the graphics are awful. Yeah, but the physics of it, but yeah, when you get up there and it starts flying, like when you turn, like this entire module is literally turning and rotating, and we'll do full barrel rows and everything.
SPEAKER_01Oh now, like it'll actually flip, yes, like so.
SPEAKER_02I was riding with Nico and then Tree will say, 'I'm a wuss, because I don't want to go upside down.' But the machine is real old, so when we started turning and we and it started getting when I was leaning on my side, it was stab, like the seat I was in was stabbing me so bad. So like I kept it straight, and I was like, This hurts, Nico. I'm sorry. Like I like I don't really want to I'm too big for this.
SPEAKER_01Like, like I'm too tall for this seat.
SPEAKER_02But when I got out and I was on the outside filming, uh just so they could see, Nico and uh Cherie got in there and kept it flipping. Oh my god. Like flipping so much that he lost his hat in the pod. Like he went in there with a hat, came out, they couldn't find under the seat behind the seat. They had no idea where it was until the next day. The guy who runs the machine was like, Oh, we we finally found your hat because we gave him the number. He had just bought the hat. He was like, you know, call us if it shows up.
SPEAKER_00Good guy. He turned a centrifuge.
SPEAKER_02You know how he drives. I think he would hold it upside down to fly a little bit.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Nico, quit.
SPEAKER_02No, you know your sister, she didn't care.
SPEAKER_01We're too upside down.
SPEAKER_02That's a fun experience. I'm gonna take you there one time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that sounds that sounds awesome.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you would love it. Get the aviation museum, and it's just a dope aviation museum, and then watch the blue angels practice. And it's all free. You don't pay nothing. It's just free entertainment.
SPEAKER_01It's uh I imagine being like a fighter pilot is awesome.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I would think so.
SPEAKER_01I would imagine scary and awesome.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you're just it's like I know I could never do it, so I got the utmost respect. Yeah, it's balls of steel. Have you watched the Blue Angels documentary on Prime, Amazon Prime? I guess so. It's free, it's dope. It's like it was filmed 2024, I think, but it's just a whole little quick hour documentary on their year of how they track training, how they train, how they pick the team, how they go through it. They'll sit in an office, like with just a U-shaped table, like where they can hear each other and like oh, pretend they're do the like they'll close their eyes and they're because they have to leave. Oh, they'll do the whole routine. Yeah. Like it's you just gotta watch them do it.
SPEAKER_01I've seen videos of pilots like doing that stuff before they get in the airplane, yeah. Which looks silly, but God, it's so cool.
SPEAKER_02But they're so in sync, man. It's dope.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, there's gotta be a science behind it. Yeah, I love it. Yeah, you gotta know when you're them flying so close to each other. Yeah. Wow, like it. Yeah, yeah. My heart beats fast if I get pulled over by the police. Could you imagine flying inches away from a wing to wing?
SPEAKER_02I think they're 14 inches apart. Yeah, and when they're in the delta, that's the diamond.
SPEAKER_0114 inches. That's crazy. They sign these twins further apart now.
SPEAKER_02Then you know they're turning and doing loops and stuff and just staying perfectly together in that formation.
SPEAKER_01Woo wee.
SPEAKER_02That's fire. Fire.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I wonder how many simulation hours you go through.
SPEAKER_02Probably a lot.
SPEAKER_01Like uh F1 drivers and stuff, you know. I would imagine uh uh their reaction times are real similar to one another. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Would you do a ride-along with uh in an airplane? Yeah, with in a one in Blue Angel Jets.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Your sister wants to so bad. She wants to feel the G's.
SPEAKER_01Make me throw up from both ends, please.
SPEAKER_02She wants to pass out because she knows them G's will make you pass out.
SPEAKER_01I don't think I don't think I could take probably about six, six or seven. I'm gonna start.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Definitely there's one there's one sequence when when they're doing the practice, it's part one part of the show, or just one of them, he's moving along, and then he does a hard turn, it's called a G turn, and like just does it right in front of us. And I think they said it's like a nine G. Yeah, well I don't know. That might be a lot. I think for some reason something's wanting to tell me it's like a like a four, like a four G turn, like, but like a quick like a quick left turn, but with the strength of four G's, boy, that'll shut you down, son.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, maybe I got overzealous with the six or seven projection. I maybe like three and I'm out. I don't really know. Three and my nose starts bleeding. I don't even know how to look up strength of well there's a uh you never seen those uh G the simulator, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah. You get pulled apart. Mm-hmm. And that's that's just that's just ten times the gravity and you could you imagine that's why you things implode when you go real deep.
SPEAKER_02Boom, just I don't know, atmospheres. I couldn't do it right alone. I don't think I could. I'd be too scared. I hate passing out.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I just I don't have a record of passing out.
SPEAKER_02At the same time it is once in a lifetime.
SPEAKER_01I've the only time I ever passed out is when you do that stupid thing when you're teenagers, you know, up against the wall. Up against the wall. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I've never passed out other than that. I pass out when I give blood. I had to give some blood a few years ago. Well, I was giving blood, I was doing not giving blood, like donation uh lab test. Oh, yeah. I was getting a physical, like a full blood, I don't know what it's called. The full panel. A panel, yeah. Yeah. They they put it in my arm and I woke up. I remember waking up, like, you know how weird it is to pass out. Have you passed out? Do you know what it's like? Uh-uh.
SPEAKER_01It's like other other than that, what I just said.
SPEAKER_02I don't know how to not only describe it's the closest thing to time travel you can have, but it's like we're sitting here talking, but then all of a sudden you're just waking up. Oh, yeah. And I can sit there and like you couldn't. Ash and cut you in the butterfly effect, try to fill in that gap. And I just you can't, you can't. And I remember when I realized I was waking up, it's like I immediately knew in my brain, because I was in the hospital, uh, giving the blood, but I I knew what happened. I was like, as soon as I could see everything, I I just raised up and said, I'm back. And then everybody started laughing. I didn't realize there were seven people around me.
SPEAKER_00It's like, we need we need cookies and juice, stop.
SPEAKER_02Just immediately handing me a coke. I was like, all right. And I was like, Well, did did you get the blood at least? Yeah, yeah. It's like hope you hope you kept getting the blood and a video. But that's why I don't give blood no more. Just because I hate passing out because it's just weird and freaks me out.
SPEAKER_01No, so it's the it's the needle going in your arm that does you don't even have to look at it.
SPEAKER_02No, it wasn't, it was the starting the my body just did it. No, they had it in the you was like, I was like, I can't take this. The blood was flowing. I was talking to her, like I didn't know it, I didn't feel it coming on. Like I was talking.
SPEAKER_01Well, did you look down and then you went out?
SPEAKER_02Or no, I was talking, and then I was waking up, like it's weird, mid-sentence, yeah. And she said I just like fell by his years, just lobster biscuits, and then just fell over. Dang. And uh I passed that on your sister one time while I was getting a haircut. This is when she had the salon when we lived above, we both lived beside the uh theater. Oh, she had that salon.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. Just getting a haircut?
SPEAKER_00What you just holding your bread?
SPEAKER_02It was a long day.
SPEAKER_03I don't I there's one of those other people.
SPEAKER_00I hope she wasn't doing the clipper part.
SPEAKER_02It was one as I couldn't tell you. It was the thing again where I'm sitting there getting a haircut and then I'm waking up on the ground.
SPEAKER_00Oh Doc, was you standing up getting a haircut? Oh my goodness.
SPEAKER_02I don't know. It was 19 years ago, so the exact details are not with me. Oh my goodness. And then waking up. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00It was funny. Like when it was, I just had I just had one. Oh Lord.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but I'm fine now.
SPEAKER_00I don't pass out no more. I'm delivered.
SPEAKER_02Yep. I learned my trigger points and I just don't do it no more.
SPEAKER_01So getting tattooed does nothing. Like you're fine when you get tattooed.
SPEAKER_02No, I love that pain. Like that that feels that hurts so good.
SPEAKER_01People that say that's weird, man. You're a psychopath, my boy. Because that's not psycho. That don't feel good.
SPEAKER_02That's not the word, though. You know there's a word for that. I don't know what I'll do. I would have said it if I could think of it. A red handochist. No. Uh sadomasochist. Sad sadist? What does it mean when you enjoyed it? I think you're entering entering some territory you don't want to be labeled as mom. No. We're fixing to Google this one. Because I got no tattoos hurt. I like them, but they do hurt, but it also depends where you are. Like the ones I got on my forearm. These, like it feels, I mean it hurts, but it don't hurt hurt. Like I would I would do it again. You know what I'm saying? Now, I haven't I haven't been through an elbow or a collarbone. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I heard those two.
SPEAKER_02I ain't been through, yeah, that stuff. Now, this under my arm's a little bit tender.
SPEAKER_01You crazy. I know that killed right there. Yeah, this right here on the biceps. Yeah. It get it hurts to get pinched right there. Yeah, you would think uh your elbow wouldn't hurt as bad because that's the same kind of skin you have that, you know. All right, just gonna say something. I was right.
SPEAKER_02Sorry, I don't mean to interrupt, pause that. Masochist. I was right. It is a noun, someone who obtains pleasure from receiving punishment. Well, that's a little extreme. Hold on now. That ain't it. That ain't it. Hold up.
SPEAKER_01It was like uh I think there's black leather in the ball.
SPEAKER_02No, no, no. There's grade stuff. Oh, gray leather. I'm not bad. Gene grade leather.
SPEAKER_01All right, that bull.
SPEAKER_02See what I did there.
SPEAKER_01That was funny. Yeah, what was you saying though? Nah, it's a good thing you stopped me from saying what I was gonna say.
SPEAKER_00You gave me time, you gave me pause. Like, I should not. I was gonna give a fun fact that was gonna make people uncomfortable.
SPEAKER_02All right, we mentioned jeans and dick poop. Let's go to Comic Con. What'd you think about the uh Doomsday page? I should have watched more stuff. I didn't. I mean, I I know very I know some headlines. I didn't watch everything.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Refresh my memory. Super excited for Doomsday. The announcement of Ghost Rider, Ryan Gosselin.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah. I thought about that earlier. I was gonna ask you about I look I love that. I love uh Ryan Gosslin.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I love Ryan Gosslin, so it's gonna work for me.
SPEAKER_01I think that's why I don't I like it.
SPEAKER_02And the only thing I know about Ghost Rider is Nicolas Cage, and we know that was forgettable. Uh that was the he plays Johnny Blaze.
SPEAKER_01There's two ghostwriters. I forgot the other one's name. I know there's two different ones.
SPEAKER_02Is Ryan not gonna be Johnny Blaze?
SPEAKER_01He might be the other one.
SPEAKER_02I didn't know there was two ghostwriters.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Oh no, there's like, well, in the con in the comic lore or whatever, there's it's a lineage multiple ghostwriters where it goes back to you know, like Sam was the ghostwriter. What's his name? Sham Elliott.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah, yes.
SPEAKER_01He was the ghostwriter.
SPEAKER_02Kind of like there's the Doctor Strange.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. Steven Strange. But uh I as far as uh the characters, you know, like uh Green Lantern, you John Stewart and Hal Jordan.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. Okay.
SPEAKER_01But there's two, there's two different ghostwriters, and then there's a ghostwriter, cosmic ghostwriter that's Punisher becomes ghostwriter. Punisher comes ghost ghost. Frank Castle becomes ghostwriter and has uh like cosmic power. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I wonder if ghostwriter ever gets his white gloves and boots.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. Maybe they don't do like they did in in the Nicolas Cage one, because um I forgot. Blackheart, uh, you know, the bad guy and that ghostwriter with him.
SPEAKER_02They're not gonna be. Not really. That movie was bad. Oh, yeah. I watched it once and didn't want to watch it.
SPEAKER_01He's from something else. Blackheart's from something else. I can't remember. But it's not like a ghostwriter per like a and the ghostwriter lexicon of someone he would fight.
SPEAKER_02I don't know. I don't know enough about ghostwriters. I should have had that whole thought foreign before I know way more about Ryan Gosling than Ghost Rider. Oh, yeah, I know. But hey girl.
SPEAKER_00All weekend I've been going bada me mommy. Bada me mommy.
SPEAKER_02Uh I want to run it back to Spider-Man. How awesome! I've just I just love Yolanda, the character.
SPEAKER_01Uh her her little scenes were great.
SPEAKER_02You know, that is her office, huh? Yeah, it is her office. I'm just glad the sad man has friends. Like I love her interactions with her and Kate Bishop. Uh did you watch that? Oh, yeah, that show was great. Fantastic. Thunderbolt. Did you watch Thunderbolt? Yeah, good. Good stuff. Watched it twice, actually. I thought Black Widow was even a good movie. Yeah. I just I like Yolanda. It's a good character.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, she's uh she's uh I don't know what am I trying to say? Like Scarlet I was trying to figure out a way to Scarlett Johansson's like sexy black widow. You know what I mean? Like she's like strutting around and she's got her and Yolana's just like I'm about to put my hair in a half ponytail, beat your ass.
SPEAKER_02I think Florence Pugh is a little cuter to me.
SPEAKER_01You ever seen Midsummer? Yeah, no, you ain't never seen that. You wouldn't watch Midsummer. Uh-uh. It's like one of those A24 movies that's messed, like it's got a messed up twist to it. She's it's like an older movie, she's in it. Okay.
SPEAKER_02I've seen a handful of things with her in it.
SPEAKER_01And they in this like utopian town, and then like they have a festival once a year where and Florence Pew and her groups visiting this town, they're like all in love with it. It's the midsummer festival and stuff. And then at the end of it, uh old couples jump off a high cliff splat to a rock on purp like together, and everybody watches it. And that's the way it's like one of those weird movies with Yeah, yeah. He's just like, oh dang, um not Shaman didn't see that kind of thing. All right.
SPEAKER_02But yeah, yeah, she's a cutie pie. Good character, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, she does um, she does Russian better than Red Guardian.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00It does stupid Russian, yeah. Sounds like Zangif. Yes, Zangif. I'm bad guy, but I'm not the bad guy. You're doing pretty good. Pretty on point there.
SPEAKER_01I yeah, I've seen I've seen Wreck It Ralph a bunch.
SPEAKER_02Oh, that's a that's a classic. I love Wreck It Ralph.
SPEAKER_01Bro, did I tell you that Fixing Felix is on the arcade machine? Like the game, yeah. I know it is.
SPEAKER_02It's like and it's not like not one of the modded things I added to the arcade, yeah. It's the act actual thing.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah. I f I didn't find it until like I don't know, a couple months ago, and I've played it so many times. I was like, oh this is Donkey Kong.
SPEAKER_02Uh-huh. No, it's um rampage almost, ain't it?
SPEAKER_01No, no, no, because you gotta jump and fix the windows and dodge dodge the bricks.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, okay, okay.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah. Well, we got rampage. We play so much rampage, yeah.
SPEAKER_02It's on there.
SPEAKER_01The universal one, too, or you got the world tour, then the other one where you got more more places to go. I destroyed Pyongyang so many times, it's crazy. Is that a euphemism?
SPEAKER_00It's out here pyongyanging.
SPEAKER_02Boy, see that peon yang on that girl.
SPEAKER_00Like yonkin'.
SPEAKER_01That's funny. Um, hey, I there's something else I want to say about Spider-Man.
SPEAKER_02Let's do it.
SPEAKER_01I like the um the use of the red hand. That was pretty good.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that was a smart way of doing it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I don't uh the only big complaints I see in comments and all that stuff is uh people's like, there's just there needs to be there wasn't a Spider-Man villain in it. I kind of like the fact that it kind of broke the formula of a standard superhero movie.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, the Sam Raimi version.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Where you're you got a dedicated villain.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. I like this. Scorpion was so little in there, it really didn't matter to me. He didn't see it wasn't a threat or nothing.
SPEAKER_01Nah, they did all that stuff. If you if you'll notice, I don't know if anyone's ever noticed, but like in each movie, uh with all those villains that Times fought, like Scorpion, Rhino, they one little scene in the movie, they did a Spider-Man cover, like a comic cover. Especially like where I don't know, one of the most famous ones is like Scorpion, he's up on the wall, Scorpion's trying to stab him with his tail. I mean, I I know that that's how that's what triggered it for me. I was like, yeah, that's a that's a comic book cover. And then they've done more like uh Rhino running into the wall or Ram, whatever his name is.
SPEAKER_02Uh at all have you played Spider-Man or Spider-Man, Miles Morales, or Spider-Man 2 on PlayStation? Have you played those games? Yes. Did you notice?
SPEAKER_01No, I played I I played the first one for sure. A hundred percent. I don't think I played Miles Morales or Spider-Man 2 because Spider-Man 2 is one of them. It came with uh the PS5, and that's what, yeah, that's what No Miles Morales came with the PS5. Because that's what we got when we bought it. Uh well, MK surprise Jet.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Miles Morales did. She got him that that version. Spider-Man 2 was your boy. Because you're both. It's Peter and Miles, and you're switching back and forth. You switch back and forth on command sometimes. Whenever you want. Oh, that's cool. It's dope.
SPEAKER_01I play, yeah, the last one I played with Mr. Negative and stuff was in it. So that's the first one, right? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02No, two has venom and all of that. Oh, yeah. Symbiote and everything. Uh, but uh, if you remember, this movie's a lot parallel to the games as far as presentation. And I seen some interviews where Tom Holland was saying he loves playing that game, he plays it often. And he got with the director this movie, and they made sure they incorporated some of the finishers and the fighting styles and all of that stuff. Oh, it's a good thing. And you can directly see. You can see it like if you know what you're moving on. Uh Ned's phone app. That's the guess in the guess from the game. Oh, right. Exactly.
SPEAKER_01That's how you oh, the spider tracks the spider.
SPEAKER_02Where or where it would be like tell him a crime, and like he has that like what you have in the game to do to solve crimes. It's exactly that.
SPEAKER_00That's cool.
SPEAKER_02Nah, like a little side crumbs like that. That's dope. I thought it was cool how they incorporated it. You know, tied it in. Even uh his ability at the end where he spun, the whole well. Yeah, that's all from the game.
SPEAKER_01I thought that one was from the game.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. It's dope.
SPEAKER_01Dang, they're going off in there.
SPEAKER_02Somebody must be outside. Don't worry about them.
SPEAKER_01Them dogs, if y'all, it ended great. The movie did. Like, uh, and the after credit scene, I was P.O.'d because I was like, you made me sit through every single name to just hint Miles Morales was coming.
SPEAKER_02Even if that's what it is.
SPEAKER_01I mean, it's some other Spider-Man 2099.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_01But it's gotta be Miles Morales. Is like that's the most logical.
SPEAKER_02They have to be leaning towards it. I don't know. I've even tried to look up theories. Like there's some theories out there, but no, nobody's said anything that seems plausible.
SPEAKER_01I mean, that's just my initial thought. Like, yeah, because I know Foggy wants him, like, they want to pass the mantle to the next Spider-Man because Tom Hall's been playing for 10 years. Like, he's basically aged out.
SPEAKER_02I've heard interviews said that he's he's down to play Peter until they don't want him to play Peter.
SPEAKER_01No, I meant for the format that they've current they've owned. Yeah, yeah. Like he's aged out to where he has to be, become the um the teacher. Yes. You know, so they need to.
SPEAKER_02He needs to be that Tony Stark. Yeah, Miles. Yeah, they gotta pass the book. And that's how Peter is in the game. Oh, for like yeah, yeah. He's still that game. So Miles Morales is the introduction. I'm talking about the video games now, uh, not the movies. So in the video game, the second little game is Miles Morales, and then in part two, which Peter's in the end of that Miles Morales game, but in this one, it's like the passing of the torch, where by the end of the game, Peter's like, are you are Spider-Man? Like, you don't need me for nothing anymore. Like you can, I can I trust you. Yeah, I can go like me and me and MJ, I can go do my thing and I ain't gotta ja loved it way more than the way more than the first one. And oh yeah, it's fire.
SPEAKER_01I played it the Miles Morale and my platinum dip.
SPEAKER_02Oh, and it's so good, and the movie was so good to me that I immediately came home and just re-downloaded Spider-Man 2. And I'm playing because I got I was right at the beginning of a new game plus, so I was like, perfect. I'll just play this. Stay in Spider-Man. I mean, it's fun to literally just swing around because on this one, like at any time when you're swinging, you can push triangle, and he like Tony Stark text out these glider wings, so you then you can just glide and then push triangle again, and they retract and throw a web again. You just keep it moving.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's fine. So you don't need a building.
SPEAKER_02No, no, you know, really, it's fine.
SPEAKER_01You remember uh how far we thought that Superman game was when it comes, you can't. Oh, 360, it was no, that was dope before it's time to Superman just fly around.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we was like, man, just wait till PS4 PS3 by that point. Yeah, that was 360. Yeah, so we was like, wait till PS4, you'll be able to go to outer space. And they never made another Superman game ever. They're even trying to tell us it's it won't work.
SPEAKER_01That that Wolverine game looks fire though.
SPEAKER_02Justin has already pre-ordered it. That motherfucker. So that one's already in the game. I pre-ordered and bought GTA 6, and he bought that. Oh, so y'all both game sharing. Yeah, we're game sharing. That's a good idea. I can't wait for Forza Horizon 6 to finally hit PS5. It's gonna be fire.
SPEAKER_01Bro, if they throw a little um what was that other game that was real fun? It's like Forza, but had airplanes, dirt buyers.
SPEAKER_02The crew.
SPEAKER_01The crew. You could just start.
SPEAKER_02There's a current one out, and instead of making Jen plays it. Yeah, instead of making the new one, they're doing the the like Fortnite where it's just a season, season, season.
SPEAKER_01Like they added some of that action into Forza and give you a different vehicle or a different mode of transportation. Now, like nobody putting a high-speed train in the smug or nothing. Nobody cares about that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Whatever Forza's got going.
SPEAKER_01It was like you go in your garage, you got a maglev train, it was like, check out this boy. You know, it's rich.
SPEAKER_02Oh, but yeah. Forza Horizon is my favorite racing franchise of all time.
SPEAKER_01I love the just the act of barn finds is fun. It's dope. It's so fun. Especially you're like, oh, I just found a whatever.
SPEAKER_02And even if they wanna don't want to go out there with uh planes and stuff, at least throw us some uh crotch rockets and stuff.
SPEAKER_01And give us some dirt bike track, a course, uh uh a dedicated course, like um rush, like rush, give us a course to just go crazy on and stuff like that.
SPEAKER_02I'm with you. Talking about San Francisco Rush, the old game, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, what was it? 2040, 2040.
SPEAKER_022042, where it had like this tron. Yeah, tron look. Or this American gladiators looking arena, yeah.
SPEAKER_01With just a grid. That was fire. And they took they made uh they took that premise and made what's the car soccer game, was it called?
SPEAKER_02Oh, Rocket League.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, Rocket League. Rocket League's Rocket League always reminded me of Rush.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But like a like a Nitro Circus sponsored track or something where one of my favorite things about Forza was you could just make insane car upgrades. You'd like I got I we made a a Jeep Wranger, uh Wrangler like set up with a Hellcat oh yeah, 700 something horse. You could it couldn't be stopped, it can go through any terrain.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Nico's got a ridiculous sleeper, like some 1983 Honda Civic, and it looks he kept it rusted up, beater looking. Oh, it's to look like a sleeper.
SPEAKER_01Now I made this mode look like American flag, and you you didn't roads.
SPEAKER_00We don't need roads.
SPEAKER_01Like this Jeep would go anywhere.
SPEAKER_02This is some little compact. He hits the gas and it literally like flips over. He's like, he's like, I can't even control this thing.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I have a micro machine.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Um, but this this new one's got even a deeper customization. The with this one, uh, you're gonna have an area where you can make like you can customize it like a little your garage and like a little city area, area. Oh, they're just making liveries and no, like an actual drivable, like an area, like you're talking, you can go to different shops and whatnot. No, like you you'll have a space, like a square that you can make whatever, like you're building the the the the POI, the point of interest, the the part of the map, you know what I'm saying? Like the roads. Like do you want to be city? Do you want it to be rural?
SPEAKER_01Like, oh, okay. Like of your area, yeah.
SPEAKER_02You don't have an area, yeah.
SPEAKER_01You get the uh sim city, your own little community.
SPEAKER_02And I know it's the biggest map for uh Forza's ever had, and then the city section is the biggest city section of any Forza Horizon game.
SPEAKER_01I mean, 45 seems like friggin' massive, yeah.
SPEAKER_02And this is way bigger than that. It's all in Japan, so it's all oh, it's in Japan. It's Japan. It's fire size. Oh, is they gonna have the big on drifting? Yeah, it's got all of it, it's got the pink carbon on this boy of 100 the city stuff, the the Neo City looking stuff, the snow mountains, the pink tree, pink trees and forests, like all that Japan stuff.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah. Japanese maples, yeah, all that dope stuff. Oh, yeah, it'd be fun to drift the canyons and stuff again. Carbon, need for speed, carbon was God. People hated it, but I lived it. What are you talking about? They hated it because the learning curve was hard, and we were so good at drifting.
SPEAKER_02Drift battling, yeah. That was the game that was the Shelby GT500 was the Eleanor one, yeah. Yeah, the Eleanor one just drifting.
SPEAKER_01I think that game really got us uh skill level to be able to play dirt when Jim Connor that thing was fire. Well, I've hours, hours I put in.
SPEAKER_02Just high score battling on that so fire. And they never made another one. Or they I mean they had Jim Connor mode in the next one, but it didn't wasn't the same. Was not the same.
SPEAKER_01Xbox controllers can always just so ergonomic for that game. They did it so perfect. And what I don't even care for rally games that much at all, but that game was Dirt 3 was fun, it was a good game. That game was the so much replay value.
SPEAKER_02What game was I mean, it's not my favorite racing franchise ever, but was probably one of the funnest, most memorable racing games ever.
SPEAKER_00Let me say it. I know it.
SPEAKER_02I know it. Um split second. Yep, 100%. You talk about replay value. Oh my goodness.
SPEAKER_01I knew it. You ain't even lying. That was so genius fire. Genius little I can rewind this one real quick.
SPEAKER_02It could rewind, but then you trigger it. You slap you trigger it so when you got back to it, you're talking about a shortcut or you make it longer for someone else. Yeah, I mean you're exploding roads and uh like bringing down overpasses and crashing beyond uh the landslides, yeah. Like the airport, like literally the control tower, like making it fall, like complete and complete chaos.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, changing levels, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Levelation like from battlefield but in a racing game. Why don't they bring that back? I think that was a Disney studio.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. There's so many games. All right, you don't think about this anymore, but there hasn't been a good boxing game since Fight Night. Remember how Fight Fight Night was I'd I would play it right now if I had a 360.
SPEAKER_02If you had an Xbox, Fight Night is free on Game Pass, like and it's been there.
SPEAKER_01Oh, Jets got Game Pass.
SPEAKER_02Fight Night's there to go download it.
SPEAKER_01Oh, we gotta see. That was the best boxing game ever made.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, fire. I haven't played the new UFC. I'm waiting for it to go on sale. I've heard it's decent enough, but not as good as I think everybody's still saying UFC 3 is the best one. Two or three.
SPEAKER_01I don't know which one we play where we just did knockout fights. That was the last one. We don't grapple. Grappling's for homo.
SPEAKER_02No, they yeah, they had I th that was like the first one with knockout mode, I think.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. There's no grappling.
SPEAKER_02Well, yeah. I mean, we were playing just grappling back before that mode.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah. That's that stuff hard to learn too. I mean, it got way more difficult as the games got.
SPEAKER_02One of them, I'm gonna say UFC 2, maybe. I actually learned, I was okay at the ground game too, submissions and all that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, there's one of them I actually learned how to play, and then the next one, it was like threefold difficulty for the grappling.
SPEAKER_02I was like, dog, I don't I'm just not doing this.
SPEAKER_01It used to be a bit simpler.
SPEAKER_02I agree.
SPEAKER_01I'm good. Daniel, we've been going for an hour because we came in here at one o'clock.
SPEAKER_02Anything else you've been watching? Spider-Man?
SPEAKER_01We watched No, we watch uh House of the Dragon, but we're a few episodes behind.
SPEAKER_02We are I got two ep two or three episodes left in season two for my starting point to go and catch up and rewatch. We're gonna watch it. I heard I've been seeing, like, you know, just episodically though as I'm scrolling, it'll be like this episode is rating, and this all like nines and tens this last season saying it's fire.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's good. Like it's it's not as slow as the first season. There's it it took me to the it took me to this season to realize that the old queen is the girl from Ready Player One. Like, I killed like where do I know this girl from? It was like, yeah, she looks like Rose Byrne. That's not Rose Byrne. Where do I know her from? And then finally, it just clicked. I was like, oh, she's what's her name in Ready Player One.
SPEAKER_02I love Ready Player One, but she's just older now, bro.
SPEAKER_01It was just throwing me off.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't know. I haven't watched it recent enough to know. Probably hadn't seen it two or three two or three years. They take so long with the dang seasons, and we just stopped during season two. I don't know if something else started that we preferred to watch better, but we just never didn't go back.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, like we might go. Who knows? Well, we don't really have shows that we watch unless we find one. There's we just don't watch anything.
SPEAKER_02Uh yeah, we don't we got we have intentions of watching things.
SPEAKER_01Okay, okay, watch all kinds of stuff, but I don't watch a lot.
SPEAKER_02I watch something while I'm eating, but that's always just some sitcom I've seen before. I'm currently I'm on the end of season four of Entourage for the 15th time in my life.
SPEAKER_01You know what's pretty funny? I watched uh several seasons of that became like one of those comfort shows you didn't like you would just watch when you're eating. Uh Animal Control.
SPEAKER_02Animal Control. I don't know what that is.
SPEAKER_01It was it's got um, what's the name from community and talk soup? Ah crap. I don't know. Famously fought Chevy Chase. What's his name? Uh anyway, it's it's it was funny.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01Like a Brooklyn 99. Okay, it's a sitcom. Okay, okay. Yeah, it's like Brooklyn 99, but I think the next one I'm gonna watch. Joel McHale. That's it.
SPEAKER_02Joel McHale. I can't put a face with that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know I know him if I've seen him. I think when I finish uh Entourage, when I finish, it should be around September, so around fall. And uh for me, tell you tell you this about me, something that's just so nostalgic for me around the holidays and all that stuff, is Tim Allen.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, he's uh just he's just like ubiquitous with Christmas.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he's well, he's just a staple of my childhood. You know, I'm just I really too, man. He's comforting to me. Is that weird? He's Santa Claus. Yeah, exactly. The Santa Claus. And I say is that weird that he's comforting to me. No, just he's from my childhood, home improvement to that, like everything. Santa Claus is Santa Claus, my favorite Christmas movie. Second favorite, I'm gonna still say home alone like a true Gen Xer.
SPEAKER_01I heard they were redoing uh Macaulay Colkin pitched a home alone movie where he is like estranged from his kids or something.
SPEAKER_02No, like he's a single, he's a divorced dad, and he has a son, and his son locks him out, and that's yeah. I don't know. If they make if they make another they make another home alone and McCullough Coke's in it, I'm gonna watch it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'm gonna give it a go.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna watch it.
SPEAKER_01I mean, you could remake that same exact movie.
SPEAKER_02No, you couldn't. No, I'm saying if William was the dad, if he was the daddy. I'm with you. I'm with you. Okay. Oh, but anyway, the whole spiel I was doing. I say all the Tim Allen stuff to say what I think I'm gonna watch next and since it's gonna be fall, Christmas time, Christmas tree up, is um Tim Allen's new show, uh Shifting Gears with um oh, with uh cutie uh cat dennings. Cat Dennings, yeah. Uh yeah. I've watched a few, like when it first came out, me and Shrew watched the first few episodes, and it's like, yeah, this is gonna be a decent, you know, just Tim Allen.
SPEAKER_01When MK was younger, they looked a whole bunch alike.
SPEAKER_02Like Cat Dinnings. I've never seen Cat Dinnings young. Like a 40-year-old Virgin, but that wasn't. I don't know how she was she in that movie. That was the first time I ever saw her.
SPEAKER_01Uh no, I was thinking more like uh Thor.
SPEAKER_02Like okay. I went further back.
SPEAKER_01They yeah, they had the same face. I mean, they still look similar.
SPEAKER_02Um who looks like MK to me is Winona Ryder. For real? Young Winona Ryder, they just yeah, I see that.
SPEAKER_01I see that. She'll she'll appreciate that if she ever hears this.
SPEAKER_02Well, I I meant it. Say it, I meant it.
SPEAKER_01I guess it's better than somebody ugly. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Like, you know who she looks like.
SPEAKER_00Uh why can't I think of anybody ugly? Like, I don't want to be mean. Yeah, yeah, that'd be mean. Yeah, it's hard. Like, hmm. That's how you know she's ugly.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, she's actually pretty. It's like I gotta think of an ugly person.
SPEAKER_02I'm I'm I'm going through the like I can't be object, like it can't be just my opinion base. It's gotta be somebody truly ugly, and that just seemed mean. I don't want to do that.
SPEAKER_01That's funny. Just to make the comparison. Yeah, no, no, no, no, no. That's hilarious. We I love you, okay. I'm sorry. Wait, no, I'm not sorry. I didn't do anything wrong, right?
SPEAKER_02Oh, it's uh I got night two of SummerSlam tonight.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, it was the first night. Good. I saw Brock Lesnar ripping up the mat or whatever. I was like, man, that mat ripped so perfectly square. You know, he's like, he must be a carpenter when he's not wrestling. It was taped. You could see the tape.
SPEAKER_02It was just a section. He lost Oak, but he should have because Obafemi is the next big thing, boy. Pun intended. Nice.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's weird that you gotta take down Brock Lesnar to be the new guy. Like he's such a new one.
SPEAKER_02He ain't the guy, but he's that beast monster character. That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_01Like, yeah, it's it's antiquated to say the least, Brock Lesnar still being the beast.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah. I mean, he's the vanilla gorilla. That's what I thought.
SPEAKER_01Y'all couldn't, y'all haven't found a beast since then.
SPEAKER_02There's been big dudes, but none of them have that gold bird. Athleticism. There's an it, there's an this it factor. I hope if him he's fire, he's got it. You know, he's uh is it Somali? No, Somali. Samoan? No, no, that's that's Roman Reigns. No, he he talks uh Maudi? He's the ruler, he talks like Wakandish. I think we talked about this last time. Is it is it black? Yeah, he's black. Oh, okay. He's like uh Congolese or something. He's like huge. Like he threw Brock Lesnar. I would say he's like uh tossing. Yeah, I mean I don't know who he is, but I'll say anyway. Listen, just look him up. Oba Femi. Obviously, Oba, WWE Obah. Oh yeah. CM Punk retained, that's my guy. He fought Cody Rhodes, Dusty's kid.
SPEAKER_01I saw that masked Dusty Rhodes come out, that guy uh guy-inspired.
SPEAKER_02His entire entrance was like Street Fighter themed on purpose.
SPEAKER_01Have you seen the new Street Fighter trailer?
SPEAKER_02No, like I told you, I'm I'm already I'm going to see it, so I'm done watching trailers.
SPEAKER_01It it like it looks like what we heard, like it's a it is a video game movie that it's supposed to be.
SPEAKER_02And that's what I wanted to be. It's almost comedy first.
SPEAKER_01I don't want realism. It's like dudes, green guys can't shock people.
SPEAKER_02Exactly. I want Street Fighter to be almost goofy. I want Mortal Kombat to be as real as real can be, though.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Because they have the the first one. We already went over that. Man, the first one was.
SPEAKER_02I wish they could make a fire tekken story, but really tell that story of the Jin family. Oh, yeah. And of him like maybe like really tell it by the end. He turns to Devil Jinn, like start from the beginning, like really make us care about this and be authentic with uh you know Asian characters, Asian actors, and like really do it. Yeah. I think that would be fire.
SPEAKER_01Yes, that they that would be a great idea because that's a they make so many niche things mainstream, and I don't feel like that would be too far of a stretch to be able to do with Tekken. Especially well, this is coming from two people who have loved Tekken since it's like DOA DOA level graphics. Well, I can tell you virtual fighters.
SPEAKER_02I can tell you exactly how long I've been playing Tekken. All I gotta do is look up the release date for Tekken, Tekken three on PlayStation 1. No, because we played Tekken 2 like Well in the in the arcade I would go, but I'm talking about Tekken 3 was when uh was when like I had the game and I like would go to like practice mode and go to the move set and learn.
SPEAKER_01Like when we would have Tekken tournaments in the basement. Me, you, Rafi, Baby J uh Adrian.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm. Well Tekken 3 came out in '98. That's crazy.
SPEAKER_01I feel like it was now we were playing but that's that we were playing Tekken Tag tournament down there in the basement.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that was PlayStation 2. Yeah, that's what we were playing at the basement. Tekken 3's PlayStation 1.
SPEAKER_01I remember playing because you introduced me to Tekken and he introduced me to Tekken in his bedroom, y'all.
SPEAKER_02That was a euphemism.
SPEAKER_01Before the basement was even finished, like it was still unfinished. We played Tekken up there.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah, in my my room, my my regular bedroom.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, just your regular bedroom. You remember that one time you had that party and uh your crush was over here, and we were playing big timers, and it was like, everybody get your mother roll on your mom was like, Ah, no, no, no, turn that off.
SPEAKER_00It's like a 15, 16, or 17-year-olds, and it's like everybody's like, What?
SPEAKER_02I don't know. I don't remember it per se, but that's that is my mom to death. Remember that. Just know that the crap like that happened so much that I can't remember this exact can't remember this thing, this exact instance. Oh god. I know Clint's probably got some stories of my mom being crazy. That's a whole nother podcast. I don't even want to get into that. Yeah, I have to leave the podcast pissed off.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, nobody wants to talk about stories about their mom. I got some doozies myself if we ever talk about those.
SPEAKER_02Uh uh, what else is going on? What's the next movie's coming out? I mean, Doomsday, we got Doomsday, but that's December. You know, I was looking, I was just on Fain Dango and bored. I was like, let me go ahead and look at Doom Tickets. December. Sold out. Promise you it's already settling out. I bet. Because I know like where I always like to sit in theaters. And I've gone through every time slot, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Kennesaw, Rome, Hiram, sold out. In the I can, I mean, there's seats, but the seats that I always like to sit in, kind of the middle, right in the center, but kind of right behind the handicap.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02Sold out. The middle, the middle of theaters is already sold out. And if the movie don't come out till December 18th. Dang.
SPEAKER_01Insane. Yeah, me and MK were talking about. She saw a video, somebody made a list, like a handwritten list of all the movies. It's like uh what you need to watch before doomsday.
SPEAKER_02It was just I think it was like 300 something hours.
SPEAKER_01That's what I told her. I said, Yeah, I saw one that said you would have to watch uh like a movie or two every day until now until it come out, so you could even dang somebody popping off in the country.
SPEAKER_02Gun shots outside. Um, but yeah, but somebody right now is working on a uh a YouTube video that'll be watch this before you watch Doomsday, and it'll be like 30 minutes.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_02Everything. You're right. I think Doomsday I think Deadpool is gonna be in Doomsday.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah. I hope so. Because I don't really care for Ryan Reynolds, but I really love Deadpool.
SPEAKER_02I mean, I like Ryan Reynolds. I don't like Black Lively as a poison.
SPEAKER_01No, he just seems like a he seems like a he who he plays is who he is, but in real life he's probably like a dickhead version of that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. But see, I don't have to put up with with Ryan Reynolds like that, so I that it don't affect me.
SPEAKER_01One thing they didn't utilize with Deadpool is his backpack. Like in if you in the first movie when he like leaves it in the cab with Mohender, bro. I don't know why. Because that thing's an infinite space in there. You can just put anything in there, it'll hold everything.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I didn't know he had that in the comics.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's like uh just put whatever in there, like uh Peacemaker's dad's oh yeah, his room.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. What's that room called? I forget.
SPEAKER_01It's the same some kind of luminal space or something.
SPEAKER_02Heck yeah. Yeah, I think that's the only movie that's gonna be.
SPEAKER_01Maybe they'll do like a I don't know who they'll recast. I'm interested to see. Recast. Uh all the X-Men. Yeah, I saw I saw that uh Frost. That's fantastic casting. Samara Weaving. Yeah, she's great. She's like uh it's like she is to Margot Robbie what Margot Robbie is to Jamie Presley.
SPEAKER_02I'm with you. Yeah, yeah, I see it. And I seen uh this recent uh was it variety? I think it was variety that was interviewing Indy over the week. Oh, you're saying she wanted to like to play Mystique? Oh, she's she's had, yeah, yeah, because she's had she says she said I've had all kinds of meetings, and that was like, what character would you like to play? And she was like, Mystique. And I'm going, no, you can't be the character that changes into somebody else. Yeah, you gotta stay you. Stay you. I wanna look at that face.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I don't know who should be, who should be a good character.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I would need a I would need to look at the list of X-Men to kind of it depends on what they're gonna do.
SPEAKER_01If they're going like original X-Men, they're just doing like Angel, Cyclops, Jim Gray, Beast. Yeah, I'm not sure. I mean, Nicholas Holt really went from being the beast to being Lex Luther. Yeah, so you really really snapped on that one.
SPEAKER_02I like him. I like his him as Lex Luthor.
SPEAKER_01Why don't they do the stuff like bring like uh Wanda Wanda's kids and stuff like Speed and bring them in there and everything? Like the whole get all the characters as you can. Yeah, nobody has to have a main storyline, just put them in there.
SPEAKER_02And vision's just been out there for years. We just ain't heard nothing about vision and and like vision, they're just there.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, the new uh WandaVision uh season is supposed to be coming. They're doing a new season, yeah, and as it'll focus on that white vision, if I'm not mistaken. I saw I saw a breakdown of everything that was coming from Comic-Con, like the from Marvel Studios, from television, and the animation, and it was a gang of stuff. And I saw something that was in between doomsday and secret wars that was called Iron Man Legacy, and it could be like it could be like a Disney Plus cartoon, but no, all of them, all of them were headed by what studio, like it would say Marvel Television, Marvel Animation, Marvel Studios, and this said Marvel Studios on it, so I don't know. Like I never even heard of that.
SPEAKER_02Me either. I don't know. Unless it's Doom becoming superior Iron Man. I don't know. Because he does that in the comics.
SPEAKER_01I sure hope that they use Tom Cruise as a variant, yeah, for one of these variants. Like, because he's so Iron Man coated, like yeah.
SPEAKER_02Just like he makes a good, he makes a decent Iron Man.
SPEAKER_01Like, I mean, like the aesthetic.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, like yeah. There's RDJ is Tony Stark.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, the the he is the the idea. When you picture Tony Stark, you picture RDJ. Like, I'm pretty sure they already said that he Tony Stark will be modeled out of the state.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, like future illustrations is RDJ.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he embodies that that character so well. I think so.
SPEAKER_02We about an hour and a half.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you're gonna wrap it up. Do it. All right, fellas.
SPEAKER_02Yep. This was a good one. We love you. Thank you for listening. If you made it this long, we love ya. We'll be back with more episodes. We'll keep you updated on the improvements in the studio building, and we're gonna build us a Patreon for to, you know, so y'all can help us out and we can offer you more content. We're trying to figure out some things that's uh, you know, not just an extra, an extra podcast episode. And yeah, go somewhere, do something, show you something. We're trying to get a little creative with it, boy. So we'll we'll let you know as we come up with it. But all right then.
unknownPeace. Hope y'all.
